Practical Considerations

For maximum comfort and enjoyment of your eco retreat experience, we offer the following practical considerations:

What to wear

One of the most important considerations At Kw'o:kw'e:hala eco retreat
is the need for casual attire.

Fashionable attire is okay as long as it is practical, but we really do recommend you bring your old comfortable stuff. Many guests spend their time in shorts, sweats, fleece, and T-shirts, during daily activities and casual evenings.

Huckleberries

You won't want to be inhibited from participating in activities or games for fear of getting your clothes dirty or damaged. For example, sparks from the campfire can easily cause small holes in fleece...yoga on the beach may cause discolouration to clothing from the sand... this is a place of ”no worries”, so please bring casual and comfortable clothing.

While we wish for perfect weather during everyone's stay here at Kw'o:kw'e:hala, mother earth often has her own agenda... we still have fun in the rain, and we still do all the same things.

• sport sandals

Other Practical Considerations

For guest safety and protection physical activities are facilitated by a BCRPA certified fitness professional: Professional ethics require fully-hosted guests to complete a brief "Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire" (PAR-Q) . The PAR-Q has been developed by the fitness industry as a way to determine your readiness for physical activity, and it will be provided for your completion prior to confirmation of your reservation.

All guests are required to sign a liability waiver and release before commencing their eco program.

We are committed to the environment at Kw'o:kw'e:hala eco retreat. We ask that you observe and protect the environment by following our guidelines throughout your stay.

Open flames of any kind are not permitted anywhere on the 7 acres, except as provided by the Cruise Directors under close attention. Use of tobacco products is discouraged given fire concerns and in consideration of other guests.

To avoid vacation cancellation and/or interruption, cancellation insurance is recommended. Your travel agent may assist you with your insurance needs, or you may contact Karen or Shelley at Totem Travel. They may be reached toll-free at 1-866-364-1254, directly at 1-250-364-1254, or via their Totem Travel website.

Our season runs from mid-April to mid-October annually.

Our facility is adult only unless the entire property is privately booked by one party in which case children are welcome with appropriate supervision.

We like to make sure that people with allergies or fear of animals are aware that there is a resident big black lab and a resident cat. Both are well-trained but they, nonetheless, are animals.
